Bridal Boudoir: Before the Wedding, for Yourself
Before a wedding, everything revolves around planning: the venue, the guests, the dress, the endless list. A bridal boudoir session can be a few hours that are only yours. No list, no one else’s expectations, just calm light.
It’s often described as a wedding gift. That can be a lovely gesture, but before we get there, one thing: this session is for you first. Whether you show anyone the photos is your decision, and you can make it after you’ve seen them.
Key takeaways
- The session is for you. Whether, and with whom, you share the photos is your choice.
- Book a few weeks before the wedding so it doesn’t add stress in the final days.
- You can bring wedding pieces: veil, bridal lingerie, jewellery, your partner’s shirt.
- I guide every pose. No experience needed.
- A fine art album or a box of prints makes a keepsake you can hold.
For you, or as a gift?
Both can be true. Some women do the session entirely for themselves, as a pause before a new chapter. Others want to give selected images to their future husband or wife.
If you’re thinking of a gift, my one suggestion: look through the photos on your own first and choose the ones you want to share. The album or box can be made from those alone; the rest stay with you. Your photos are yours.
When to book
Ideally a few weeks before the wedding. It’s still calm then, and if you’d like an album as a gift, there’s time to make it. The last days before a wedding are usually too intense.
You can also do the session after the wedding, perhaps in your dress or veil, once it’s all behind you. That’s just as good an idea.
I photograph one session a day, so if you have a particular date in mind, get in touch early.
Wedding pieces in the frame
Bridal details are a beautiful way to make the session tell this particular story:
- Your veil. It works like fabric: drape it, or shoot light through it.
- Bridal lingerie. If you already have it, bring it.
- Jewellery. The earrings you’ll wear on the day, your engagement ring.
- Your partner’s shirt. A classic that looks wonderful in intimate frames.
- Flowers. A single stem in the colour of your bouquet.
From La Maison up, you can also use the atelier wardrobe. More in What to bring to a boudoir shoot.
What the session looks like
In the consultation we agree on mood, outfits and boundaries. For each session I book a studio or interior in Warsaw that suits the concept. From La Maison up we begin with makeup and hair. Then I guide you through every pose. The session lasts two to four hours. More in What is a boudoir photoshoot and on the pricing page.
The keepsake
La Maison includes 15 images and prints in a presentation box; La Couture includes 25 images and a fine art album or a large-format piece. You can also order an album separately, from 1,500 PLN.
Frequently asked questions
When should I do a bridal boudoir session?
A few weeks before the wedding, so it’s calm and there’s time to make the album.
Do I need to know how to pose?
No. I guide every pose and expression.
Can I bring my own lingerie and wedding accessories?
Yes, please do. They’re what make the session tell your story.
Can someone give me a bridal session as a gift?
Yes, a maid of honour or friends, for example. The voucher is valid for 12 months, and you choose the date and style. See Boudoir gift voucher.
